In an effort to keep up with the almighty Ipad, RIM Blackberry has leaked information about its new 2.0 update, allowing for a playback music feature, which is going to give users the ability to playback any song, and listen to it at any time, whether or not they have it in their playlist. The smart feature is going to be able to hear the song, recognize the name and artist, and store it to the playlist, for later play back, so that the user can later decide to download or discard the song. In an attempt to beat out the Ipad, RIM is really making an effort to make their tablet something which consumers can use for any purpose.

The products by blackberry are typically more for the business consumer, unlike the Apple products, which are generally for the tech savvy users. For this reason, RIM is really trying to add on additional user friendly benefits to the average user, to try and win out some of the purchasers from Apple, and bring them back to RIM. With this feature, they are definately taking a step in the right direction, and are using all tools to compete with Apple.

Ever since Windows 7 hit the market, people have been praising Microsoft. Windows 7 has been a successful operating system from Microsoft since it made a considerable number of people happy. As a result, Windows 8 looks to be right around the corner for a 2012 release. Developers over at Microsoft have been hard at work at designing the new operating system.

By releasing Windows 8 in 2012, Microsoft expects to maintain the current sales momentum it has. It is expected for Windows 8 to be highly similar to a browser in terms of user interface, along with a few similarities to the UI of Office 2007. With the new UI, users should expect to have a better experience with the new operating system. Recently, Microsoft has created some publicity with the unexpected Beta release of Windows 8. From the look of the new OS, it appears the new operating system is getting close to being finalized. At the moment, millions of people are testing the new unofficial Beta of Windows 8 which was released by accident. With this in mind, Microsoft has received positive feedback on their progress, which means a 2012 release for Windows 8 seems quite likely.

Sprint Nextel Corp., the nation’s third largest carrier is reportedly scheduled to add Apple’s iPhone to its lineup of mobile handsets this October. If true, the addition would go a long way in shoring up the maligned network’s sales. The timing of the announcement will likely coincide with the release of the heavily anticipated iPhone 5.

After Verizon’s acquisition of the iPhone 4 earlier this year, Sprint was left in a compromising situation, becoming the only one of the three largest carriers to not offer the device. Although it offers various high-end Android devices, like the Sprint Evo, many of Sprint’s customer’s have been flocking to AT&T and Verizon for the iPhone. At the end of 2011′s second quarter, Sprint had 52 million subscribers. This is in comparison to 106 and 99 million for Verizon and AT&T, respectively.

A corollary effect of a Sprint iPhone is greater leverage for AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile USA. AT&T could claim greater market parity to offset the concerns of a lack of market competition in the cellphone industry.

With Verizon, AT&T and Sprint to offer the iPhone 5, the already smartphone driven cellphone business looks like it will become even more reliant on them.

For those who own stock with the computing monster HP, you may have noticed a huge drop in the stock price this week, due to the announcement the company has made that it will be pulling out of some markets, and will only be making computers and processors from now on. The company has indicated it will no longer be making tablets or their HP phones and smart phones, due to the tough competition and the giants in the fiedl, Apple and Google. HP has claimed that they are just not reaching the sales figures they had been expecting in these markets, and, in fact are losing money on these technologies.

It has also been stated that large retailers like best buy were no longer going to keep their products on stock, due to taking up too much storage space, and not brining in the revenues that were promised by the tablets and smart phones which HP has introduced. For this reason, the stock price declined this past week, also due to the economic factors in the market in general, but mainly due to the large pull out of their product lines, which consumers heard about in a shock announcement.
